The dawn-to-dusk curfew that was imposed in Kano state due to unrest following the anticipated results of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections has been suspended.
The declaration’s author, Muhammad Garba, the state’s commissioner for information and internal affairs, urged citizens, government workers, and commercial bankers to continue with their regular responsibilities. He also thanked the people of the state for their cooperation during the curfew.
The declaration said:.
“After carefully analyzing the situation and the general calm in the state, the decision to lift the curfew was made. We implore the populace to conduct their lawful affairs without worrying about molestation or harassment.
“We appreciate the community’s cooperation during the curfew. We implore them to keep up the peace and order. “.
