Bassey Otu, an APC candidate for governor in Cross River State, has so far prevailed in 12 of the results from the 15 local government areas, according to information released last night by the LGA collation officers.
In three local government districts, he defeated Sandy Onor, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate and his main rival.
As collation was put on hold until Monday (today), results from the final three local government areas, Obanliku, Boki, and Akamkpa, were anticipated.
Bassey was victorious in 12 local government elections, including those in Yala, Calabar Municipal, Calabar South, Obudu, Yakurr, Akpabuyo, Biase, Etung, Odukpani, Bakassi, Obubra, and Abi.
Ikom, Ogoja, and Bekwarra are the three local government districts that the PDP candidate won.
