Desmond Elliot, a politician and Nollywood actor, has won the Surulere constituency 1 assembly seat in Lagos State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Dr. O, announced the results. J. Fenuga, after an election that was hotly contested and saw a significant increase in voter turnout.
Elliot won the election with 17,877 votes, and the Labour Party candidate came in second with 7,822 votes after the final tallying of the votes.
In an Instagram post responding to his victory, Elliot stated that he is open and ready to collaborate with his opponents from the recently held LGA elections.
