The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has deployed no less than 2,670 personnel throughout the state for this Saturday’s election, according to Mr. Samuel Fadeyi, the NSCDC’s Cross River Commandant.
According to Fadeyi, who announced this on Thursday, the action was taken to ensure adequate security during the state’s elections for the governorship and house of representatives.
To ensure a smooth exercise, Fadeyi said the staff would collaborate with other security agencies.
The commandant urged corps members serving in election duty to conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and integrity while at the polls.
“Anyone found to be partisan will face punishment. You must rebuff any urge to support a specific party.
Anyone caught will be subject to the wrath of the law, so resist any attempt by politicians to use you to incite violence.

He claimed that everyone on staff is aware of the Electoral Act’s requirements and the effects of compromise.
During the Presidential and National Assembly elections, the commandant reported that no fewer than 10 suspects were detained for a variety of offenses throughout the state.
Fadeyi warned locals against using violence during the election as a result.
