President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu allegedly wrote a letter to Bode George, a leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), according to media reports, but this has been refuted by the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC).
An allegedly written letter by Tinubu to George has been making the rounds on social media, according to Information Nigeria.
After George was announced as the next president-elect on Wednesday, Tinubu begged him in a fictitious letter to reconsider going into exile or taking a political retirement.
In the letter, Tinubu is alleged to have given the former PDP national vice chairman a guarantee that he wouldn’t suffer repercussions for refusing to back him.
“I hope you can find it in yourself to stay and contribute to Nigeria’s bright future.
A portion of the letter that was circulated stated that “nobody, least of all me, can force you to remain here” if you felt that the new Nigeria was not where you wanted to live.
In a statement, however, APC PCC Director of Media and Publicity Bayo Onanuga clarified that Tinubu had not made a statement regarding George.
Onanuga insisted that the viral letter that is going around and is allegedly signed by his principal is a forgery.
He penned the following.

Similarly, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), a former minister of aviation, stated on Twitter that everyone in Nigeria should disregard the letter.
The APC leader asserts that the president-elect has more important things to do than sit down and write a letter to the PDP leader.
He tweeted the following:.
