Bashir Sheriff Machina, the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Yobe North held on May 28th, filed a lawsuit against the APC, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Ahmad Lawan. The court in Damaturu, Yobe State, set September 28, 2022, as the date for its decision.
Remember that on September 12, 2022, Justice Fadima Aminu reserved judgment on the senatorial ticket dispute after hearing arguments from the plaintiff’s and defendants’ attorneys.
Machina Campaign Organization spokesman Hussain Mohammed Isa confirmed the development in a post on his verified Facebook page.
Bashir Sheriff Machina, the winner of the APC senatorial primary election for Yobe North on May 28th, filed a lawsuit against the APC, INEC, and Ahmad Lawan, and the Federal High Court in Damaturu set September 28 for judgment in the case.
The court in Damaturu will rule on Machina’s bid to be recognized as the party’s official senatorial flag bearer for the 2023 election. Machina ran in and won the APC senatorial primary election for Yobe North, but his name was changed.
On May 28, 2022, a primary election was held for the Yobe North senate seat.
