The Kano State residence of Justice Ita Mbaba was not raided, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s head of media, provided clarity on Wednesday.

Following social media posts that claimed EFCC agents “invaded” Mbaba’s residence, the spokesman responded.

On Sheik Yusuf Adam Game Street, just off Race Cross Road in G.R.A., is the residence of the presiding justice of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division.

Anti-corruption officers visited the area “on a Property Verification Exercise,” according to Uwujaren.

The official explained that the reason for the visit was a continuing issue concerning the property owner.

“There is no basis for any investigation of the Honorable Justice of the Court of Appeal,” the statement reads.

The information at hand demonstrated that Justice Mbaba is not the property’s owner and, as a result, cannot be the focus of any inquiries.

The EFCC respects the judiciary in the highest regard and would not put any court officer in a bad light, according to the statement.
